  4. HitOmi,

    You appear in such distress.

What failed on your Canon? (just curios as I am looking at the
EOS 50D or EOS 7D for purchase soon.

Henry, nothing wrong with Canon, HotoMi simply needs a higher end camera to handle the number of frames she shoots.

BTW, always nics to HitOmi in a pic!

In fact, financial distress it is...
My kit lens is out of focus even though I put auto focus mode. So have to fix it or get a new lens? I go for repairing.

  7. HitOmi,

Agree that now getting the kit lense repaired makes sense.

When you can afford Canon's higher end lense that will be a better investment as the high end lense are designed to last in the professional photographers enviroment, that is thousand of shots per month.

  8. David: lol... OOF can happen no matter in what cam but it is easier to happen in a canon... their body and lens really not as durable as nikon's... it was proven!

Hitomi: really need to becareful lor... the lifetime for their lens is 3 years... after that can throw away liaw...(serious!) buy nikon la... after 20 years still can use, look at the EM and FM body with 50mm lens... no problem till today :)

  15. Hitomi~

It is sad heard that OOF of your lens. But you still can use Manual focus to shoot. Last time my kit lens even worst that yours, the lens AF circuit failure, can't even focus. Luckily my lens still under warranty to repair.

Any brand kit lens is usually easier have problem on it, doesn't mean that only happen on canon lens. It is because the poor built quality.

I don't agree with what Henry said "the lifetime for their lens is 3 years", there are no such things actually. I had used before my friend's lens which more 10 years it's still working very well.

Canon still support 3rd party lens, didn't heard before not support 3rd party lens anymore...

I think is not worth to repair your kit lens. Save your money to buy Tamron 17-50 better.... Just my 2 cent^^

Hey there long time no hear. I thought I can survive without AF but you know I need to CAMWHORE lol

So I need to fix it. Plus it is around 180, but a new TAMRON is around 1500?

I really can't afford it.BTW, it is FIXED lol
