HitoMi,

Nice smartphone. I am use a Motorola Razr. The phone has a basic feature set and low resolution camera that takes fair photos in good light.

BTW, you claim 7 AF points are not enought. I know your camera gives you numerous focusing options for center weighting, spot, spot size and other options. Plus you have a manual focus option. DSLRs that have more AF points cost a great deal more.

Have a great week!

Kitkat, Kit lens is not sexy LOL

David, I am using motorola too >.< NO cash to change a new one. 7 AF is limiting the creativity you can express.

Have you explored your camera's metereing options?

I am not sure what Canon you shoot with, using the EOS 50D, (likely has a different name in Asia), has numerous metering options.

35-zone TTL full-aperture metering Evaluative metering (linkable to any AF point)
Partial metering (approx. 9% of viewfinder at center)
Spot metering (approx. 3.8% of viewfinder at center)
Center-weighted average metering.

From what I know most Canon's have the 9 AF points.

Do not forget that before AF many great photos were taken by the photographer.

Creativity's limits are mostly human, not technical.

Of course all this is IMHO.

I highly recommend the 50 f1.4.. don't go for f1.8 you will be amaze how sharp f1.4 can go.

If can fork out more, go for Sigma 50 f1.4. Super sharp even at wide open.

Anyway 1000d is a very nice camera to handle, especially you want it light and compact, while providing you the adequate quality to produce tack sharp images.

David, that is different from the AF point.

Kelvin, but it is way expensive than F1.8!! what gear are you using??

HitoMi,

Agreed, metering is different than focusing. However the ability to use selective meterering can make the difference in a photo final result.

Remember that the photographer is the source of creativity and inspiration. All the micro processors inside your camera cannot do anything without you.

Microprocessors cannot create anything.

While HitoMi can create art!

HitoMi,

Canon has a great F1.2 85mm lense.

Yes very expensive.

F 1.2 allows for extreme control for depth of field!
